André Belair
Chairman
Andre became involved with the Disability Resource Centre in 2003. In 2005, Andre joined our Board of Directors as Vice Chair. After an accident while working in the Forestry Industry in 1980, Andre incurred severe injuries that left him with a disability and he now lives with severe chronic pain. In 1989, Andre completed a Business and Administration Accounting Course at Canadore College. Very active in the community volunteering with many organizations and with the Knights of Columbus for over 15 years, Andre is very passionate about making a difference in the community and he brings this passion with him to the Disability Resource Centre as we promote the independent living philosophy. Andre is also the Chair of the Fundraising Committee for the Centre and a member of the Accessibility Advisory Committee for the Town of Kapuskasing.

Marcel Tourigny
Vice-chair

Born and raised in Kapuskasing, Marcel was employed with Spruce Falls for over 39 years and finished his career as a Supervisor. A short time in the Human Resources Dept. lead to Marcel's involvement in the building of a new state of the art sawmill and planning mill complex. With this new complex, Marcel became the Training and Development Coordinator, responsible for writing all training manuals, safety lock-out procedures and procedures to meet environmental regulations. Marcel has volunteered most of his life. He was a trustee for the Kapuskasing and District Separate School Board for 7 years, an executive of the Kapuskasing Music Festival, and assisted with two fund raising campaigns for the hospital. A member of the local Canadian Cancer Society for 2 years, Marcel is presently the Deputy Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus #2777. Marcel has also served as Chairman of the Centre de Loisirs Board of Directors and sits on the National Executive of Le Movement La Porte Ouverte Inc., an organization that assist individuals with their grief after loosing their spouse. Marcel has always enjoyed working with people and helping where ever he can.

Sue Larocque
Treasurer
Suzanne became involved with the Disability Resource Centre in July 2003, when she began attending the weekly Living workshop at the suggestion of a friend and feels the workshops were a lifesaver! Always anxious to learn and benefit from the people she encounters, Sue joined the Board of Directors in 2004. Her background as a bookkeeper and running her own business in the hotel industry gives her skills and knowledge that now compliments her position as Treasurer with the Board. Sue strongly believes in the independent living philosophy and identifies herself as a person living with a disability. Sue is also the representative for the Centre with Le Reseau, a francophone network of independent living centers whose goal is to promote services in the French language for people with disabilities.

June-Louise Lucchetta

June joined the Board of Directors of the Disability Resource Centre in 2003 and was a member of the Board Executive as Secretary for 2 years. While living with a hearing disability and heart disease, June has not let this slow her down and she continued to be an active volunteer for several organizations in the Kapuskasing area. With a college degree in Consumer Affairs and Retail Management and a past business owner, June is able to share her skills and experiences with the Centre and it's members and continues the legacy of her mother, one of the original founders of the Disability Resource Centre.

After several years of volunteering at the Disability Resource Centre, Julie joined the Board of Directors in 2009. Julie's past experiences with other organizations, her passion to improve opportunities for people with disabilities and to create more awareness in the community, are a huge asset to our organization and to the movement. Julie does identify herself as a person living with a disability.

Melissa Lambert

Melissa is a resident of Harty and joined the Board of Directors in May 2010. Currently, Melissa works for the Kapuskasing Councilling Services as a Nurse Case Manager. Her background as an Registered Practical Nurse compliments this position. Melissa completed one year of her Bachelor of Arts in psychology. As a young, new addition to the Board, Melissa is devoted to assisting people with disabilities and will bring her knowledge and new perspectives to the table.
