Booking rides and policies.
Criteria
-Persons living with a physical, developmental or invisible disability.
-Unable to climb or descend stairs.
-Unable to walk 175 meters (600 feet).
Note: A medical note is required from a registered nurse or medical doctor.
Booking
To book the bus for a ride, call 24 hours in advance at 335-2555
You must leave following information:
-Provide your name
-Provide your phone number
-Address for pick-up
-Pick-up day and time
-Desired destination
-Specify if you want to be brought back and when.
Please allow the bus driver extra time to pick you up.
You need to be ready 15 minutes before pick-up time, and be prepared to wait up to 15 minutes after your scheduled pickup.
Method of paying
Direct payment $2.00 one way
6 months pass $100.00 unlimited use
Yearly pass $200.00 unlimited use
If you pay directly, please ensure to have the exact change since the bus driver will not be able to reimburse the difference
Payment plan
$50.00 monthly for 4 months
$40.00 monthly for 5 months
$16.67 monthly for 12 months
Bus Availability
Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m to 3:45 p.m
Saturday: 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m
Note: As the bus also picks up students, please avoid booking the bus between 9 a.m and 3 p.m
During bad weather listen to the radio for announcements if the bus has been canceled.
Bus to Wal-Mart
The bus will go to Wal-Mart on the following days:
Tuesdays: Departure @ 1:00 p.m Return @ 3:30 p.m
Saturdays: Departure @ 12:00 p.m. Return @ 3:00 p.m.
If WE cancel the bus
Sometimes, the bus may to be canceled due to breakdowns. If you have a doctor"s appointment scheduled, you are permitted to take a taxi. Pay the taxi fare, request a receipt. Submit receipt to the Civic Center. They will reimburse the fare less $2.00.
Note:
This will be permitted only for Doctors appointment

If you need to cancel the bus, contact the Disability Resource Centre at 335-8778 and we will forward the message to the bus driver.
